Candied Ginger & Black Goma (Sesame) Cookies
This original cookie took a long time to develop because I wanted something not too sweet and with some texture. The base cookie is like a shortbread. Then I added candied ginger for just a little chew. My sister and her kids are allergic to nuts so I found black goma (sesame) for a little crunch. The result is a flavorful, not too sweet cookie that most people with dietary restrictions might be able to eat! No gluten ingredients, vegan-friendly, no nuts.

"The Berkeley"
Soba (buckwheat) is a popular ingredient in the mountains of Nagano, Japan. Not only will you find soba noodles, but also soba cookies. I made this cookie inspired by the French sable-style soba cookies that are popular in parts of Japan. No gluten ingredients, vegan-friendly, no nuts.

Matcha Island Cookies
Chunks of chewy matcha blondies added to each chocolate chip cookie make them look like little "matcha islands" and make for an irresistibly original flavor combination. No gluten ingredients, vegan-friendly, no nuts.

Chocolate Shower Cookies
The name of this inviting chocolate chip cookie is a nod to Ortman's 'Chocolate Shower' ice cream, a local favorite in Berkeley when I was growing up. With rich, delicate bits in every bite, it is a shower of chocolate!

Hopkins Street Cookies
I used to love the oatmeal cookies at Hopkins Street Bakery so I invented this version with no glutens, dairy, or eggs and added some twists - soba no mi (buckwheat kernels) and cacao nibs for a little crunch.

Thai Tea Hard Candies
